The provisions of this legislation are constantly changing, and to maintain supplier compliance, Accor has introduced a control and tracking process with the support of outside consultants. In the case of REACH, suppliers subject to the Regulation are asked to sign a Declaration of Compliance, which by the end of 2012 had been included in nearly 1,200 contracts, covering some 90% of the suppliers concerned. In the case of WEEE, information and awareness building meetings are regularly held with the buyers concerned and their suppliers to ensure that waste is recovered, sorted and recycled in compliance with the Directive.
